What is the biggest challenge of most MKMMA members during their Hero’s Journey?
I got the answer to this question once again during our first tribe call, yesterday.
It is the capacity to create the daily discipline of executing the sit, the readings and all the exercises as required, whatever the circumstances of the day.
Everybody knows that, as long as the discipline to do an unpleasant or uncomfortable thing is not successfully installed, the risk to stop doing it (another way to say “quitting”) is high.
So, the next question is: what could we do to eventually install such a discipline in our daily life, to an extend that it becomes a habit comparable to taking our meals or brushing our teeth every day?
Of course, there are many different answers to this question, and one of the major purposes of the whole MKMMA training is to allow its members to find their own personal way.
In case you are still looking for yours, let me share with you the answer I found for myself and which continues to serve me every day of my life:
My answer has the form of a question that I am asking to myself when my Old Blueprint tries to fool me: “is there anything more vital to do right now than my sit, my readings and my exercises?”
So far, I never answered “Yes” yet to that question.
It could be that, at this stage of your reading, your Old Blueprint is whispering you “Why would you consider these boring exercises as vital? They are just a waste of time compared to all other important things you have to do today!?”
If this happened, here is the answer I suggest you to calmly and firmly return to your Old Blueprint:
“If I cannot transform into a habit a set of simple exercises like these, how could I pretend changing anything that doesn’t work right now in any area of my life – personal, relational, professional, family, etc. – I mean, what solution did you, my Old Blueprint, offer me during all these years, except “tomorrow, it will be better?!”
