This week, I found a gold nugget which had the appearance of a metaphor dealing with the Law of Growth.
A main consequence of the Law of Growth is that the thoughts we keep in our mind eventually become our reality, whether the thoughts are good or bad.
Now, what is the first step of any thought on its way to manifesting itself into reality?
Yes, you guessed it, the answer is words coming out of our mouth…
That’s why it is so important to listen to our own words…because it is the best way to discover what we really think inside!
This habit of taking attention to what we say even becomes crucial when we are talking to ourself or about ourself.
For example, when I was younger, I used to call myself names when I did something supposedly wrong…
“OMG, what an idiot I am!” or “You, stupid!” were quite common, but other bird names like “crazy”, “goofy”, “dummy” and probably a few others that I since forgot, came out regularly.
When some wiser person tried to warn me about that dangerous behavior, I used to tell her “Oh, don’t worry, I am just joking!”
But of course, that was a fatal ignorance of both the law of growth and the absolute absence of sense of humor in the subconscious mind.
Once I realized my mistake, it took me quite some time to completely eradicate this habit from my current behaviors.
That’s why I was stunned hearing Mark saying “If your words about yourself were your wardrobe, what kind of clothes would you wear?”
BAM!
Having heard that little metaphor earlier would have saved me significant time and effort to get rid of my name-calling habit…and that’s why I called it a Gold Nugget!
I want to wear beautiful clothes reflecting light, not muddy rags which repel nice people from me and only attract flees and mosquitoes!
Haanel wrote that words are the highest form of architecture, and this little gold nugget came on time to remind me this great truth 😊
Live a great week and…watch your words! 😉
Thank you Luc… there is such wisdom there. Even if I change the words I use on the outside what about what I’m saying to myself in the privacy of my own mind! Such a timely reminder for me too.
Yes Catherine, absolutely right, inner self-talk is crucial to observe too, and even more difficult, hence the importance of tools like the 7 Day Mental Diet…Thank you for your enlighted feedback.
