Everybody knows the importance of a mastermind to achieve any significant endeavor.

As Mark regularly repeats it: “Nobody makes it without a mastermind!”

The good news: MKMMA means “Masterkey Mastermind Alliance” and provides many different ways to practice the mastermind to the members of the program…

Here are a few examples: the Forum in the Member’s area; the weekly mastermind after the Sunday webcast; the Tribe calls; the sharing of the member’s blogs; the masterminds between members (often one-on-one’s)…

Being a guide since 4 years, I noticed that many members are struggling every year with this concept of mastermind, especially when they are invited to find a mastermind partner in the Alliance, with who they can share their challenges and create accountability.

One obvious reason is the lack of practice – unfortunately, most parents and school teachers don’t train their children to the practice of mastermind!

There is only one remedy to a lack of practice: to practice!

Now, another reason I noticed is a lack of knowledge about the rules of a mastermind, ie. what are the good practices to follow to make sure that the mastermind will be efficient and beneficial to everyone?

Hence the reason for this post!

blog_mastermind2Actually, the rules governing a good mastermind are simple and straightforward:

Rule 1: the subject is a single and well-defined topic brought by one specific member of the mastermind group; that member is the animator and the beneficiary of the mastermind.

Rule 2: the members always share in harmony; it does not mean that they must agree with all what is shared, but they must have an attitude of openness and strictly avoid arguing and judging other members ideas; they are supporting and challenging the beneficiary with the sole intention to help him/her to progress in his/her subject.

Rule 3: the beneficiary decides who belongs to his/her mastermind and all the other logistic aspects like duration, frequency, location, etc.

In practice, when several members are masterminding together, each of them will successively become the beneficiary and bring a new topic on “the table.”

According to the rules above, we could then say that there are as many consecutive masterminds as there are members in the group which gather…

The same is true in one-on-one masterminds, as each member is the beneficiary and brings his/her own topic at his/her turn.

I hope this will help the readers who are earnestly looking at how they could use this powerful concept to realize their potential and reach their next level!
